  |  |  |  | Mankind setup can be found in several forms depending on how you have bought it
(online or at your local dealer). As the game is constantly developing, you may
find several releases. To setup a box release of the game, please refer to the
manual enclosed. Normally the setup will start automatically once you have
insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and the "auto-run" option
from Windows is enabled (default).
If you have downloaded the software or of you launch the setup from a demo CD,
just double-click on the setup and follow the
instructions that appear. If you are playing for the first time, you will have
to create a player account on our site mankind.net.
Note :
- The latest release of the setup could be found at our official website.
- Windows 2000 users must setup the game from releases 1.6 or later because
previous releases cannot connect to our update servers.
- If you setup Mankind release 1.0, you have to download and manually set up a
small patch (manpatch.exe)
before you can benefit from updates.

Launcher -
Once the game is set up, you can launch Mankind. Enter your username
that you have chosen when registering your player account in the upper field
and your password in the lower field. You can store your password by
checking the box "Save password". Click
on "Connect" to launch the game. If an update is available, it is
automatically downloaded and you can follow the status bar on the right. You
can always stop any update download and start it again later without loosing
the part already downloaded. At the end of the download, the patch is
executed and updating your Mankind automatically.

Note : Keep your user name and password safe, don't disclose them to
anybody.
- options
before you start -
You can configure the game in accordance with your needs by clicking
on the "Game Options" buton.. You can play in full screen or
windowed mode. If you have a 3D-Graphiccard insalled, we recommend you use
it for better 3D graphic rendering in the game. You can choose to play sound
on or off and even choose a different language. Once your choices have been
made, click on the "Apply" button.

This is Mankind after the first login...
| - entering the universe of
Mankind -
After you have entered the user information and hit the "Connect" Buttons,
Mankind is being loaded. There is no video sequence or intro animation -
only the Vibes, the Cryo and finally the Mankind logo. To avoid all logos to
be displayed, you can simply click once with
the left mouse button as soon as the first logo appears or you
hear any music.
Now Mankind is connecting to the game servers. First, the connection is made, then your name and password are checked and
finally the game is starting. If the server is not available, you get a
message like "All or a part of Mankinds servers are not available because of maintenance,
please try again later." In that case you should try to connect a few
