Interacting with other players
There are several ways to interact with other players. You can communicate through the Communication-Interface (F2-Key) or use the Chat (F5-Key) to "talk" to other payers at the same environment. You can sell or buy resources, enter into alliances, attack, share your ships so that your friends can protect you when you're not online etc...

- sharing your units -
There are three different Sharing Levels for each of your units :
- Sharing Level 0 - no sharing : no one can use your units; only your Friends can see them through the Fog
- Sharing Level 1 - limited access : only your Friends can use your units; only your Friends can see them through the Fog
- Sharing Level 2 - full access : only your Friends can use your units; your Friends and Allies  can see them through the Fog
Please note that players that you have not referenced are also Allies for you.

To change the Sharing Level for one or several units just open its Status-Window (select the unit(s) and hold down the right mouse button to show the menu with available orders and select the command "Status") and change the Level there by clicking on it.

Note :
Once your units are shared, your Friends will be able to use them freely so be careful and don't entrust them to anyone !

- sharing your Base -

Sharing a Base is a little bit different than sharing another unit because other players are able to enter your Base to trade with you :
- Sharing Level 0 - no sharing : only you can enter the Base; only your Friends can see it through the Fog
- Sharing Level 1 - full access to your Friends : your Friends can enter the Base and load your resources for free if the linked Warehouses (which hold the resources) are also shared; only your Friends can see it through the Fog
- Sharing Level 2 - full access as Trading Base : both,  your Friends and Allies, can enter your Base and buy/sell resources as you have set before (please also see chapter 1.6.3); your Friends and Allies  can see it through the Fog

Note :
If you set your Base to Sharing Level 2 your Friends can't take your resources for free (like at Level 1). They have to pay for everything like all your Allies.

- Getting in touch with other players -

The Communication-Interface (F2-Key) allows you to manage your contacts in Mankind (also see chapter 1.4).
To reference another player (and list him at your contact list), you can either :
- If the player is in the same environment as you : select his name in the contact list (People at the environment) and click on the icon " reference the selection" at the Communication-Interface. A request will then be sent to the player who will either accept it or not.
- If the player is in another environment or off-line : you can select one of his units, then click the F4-Key.

If you want to examine if the player got your request to reference just go to your contact list, scroll down and take a look at the section "Submissions -> Offers". The player should be listed there.

- giving another player money or units -

To be able to give money or units to another player, you must be " Friends" (at Communication-Interface -> contact list) to each other.
- Giving one or more units : select the units to give, then the name of the target player at the contact list and click on the icon " give selection" at the contact list.
- Giving money : select the name of the player you want to give money to, then click on the icon " give money". Enter the amount of money you want to transfer and validate it.
