next development steps posted by O2 Team at February 18, 2010
|
 | | | | As we get asked a lot of questions these days we want to state the next major steps we have sheduled.- 1.9 stabilisation
This does include further bugfixes, bandwidth optimization and several other small points to make the playing experience even more solid and fun. On this point a new client installer already got released yesterday which does contain recent updates and fixes to the multi client. The download link can be found as usual on mankind.net - 3d art upgrade
We did hire a professional 3d designer to rework and upgrade existing 3d models and get them into the game with better quality and look & feel. While this will be a long time project the first units are already on their way to get reworked and will get implemented once ready. - resource scan report
We will develop an automatic scan report to allow units to automatically scan and report resources found on planets by in-game mail to take a way some of the focus for finding rare resources. - area claiming
Players will be able to claim areas/systems within Mankind to show their strength and get specific advantages - details on this will be announced by time. - Inner Universe to go 1.9
If no major issues will appear, we plan to migrate the Iner uiverse (currently running version 1.8.4 to 1.9 - anyway this will probably not happen before three to 5 month as we want to be sure 1.9 is really working fine and stable.

1.9 graphic glitches, flickering and crashes posted by O2 Team at February 11, 2010
|
 | | | | We want to inform all players of Mankind that we currently experience several reports about graphic and display errors and even crashes related to Mankind 1.9
Almost all of those we did analyze in the past days are related to graphic cards with ATI chip and it´s drivers.
If you currently use a grapic card with ATI chip we strongly suggest to go to your graphic card display drivers and disable antialiasing.
Some drivers even allow to define profiles for different applications/games. This way you can disable antialiasing for Mankind only.
1.9 battle reports available posted by O2 Team at February 09, 2010
|
 | | | | We did just enable battle reports on mankind.net.
To view details you may just visit the cartography section. The universe map has a new map type now to visually show which areas are under attack... the darker the red color of a region the more destruction does happen there.
Note: As this feature is based on Mankind 1.9 it is available for the outer universe only for now.
