slow connection to game servers posté par O2 Team à 7. septembre 2004
As most of you might have experienced while playing, connection to Mankind game servers is slow since about two weeks. While this problem does not appear all the time and we could not locate any problems on our side, we instructed our ISP (internet service provider) to do further investigation.
Finally our ISP found the cause of those packet loss and routing problems :
[...] we found that the traffic which should normally goes through REACH was directed to UUNET instead. We have escalated the problem to REACH and found that this was due to incorrect route announcement by UUNET. REACH is now working with UUNET to resolve it [...]
